It could have been anyone - such is timing. A few hours earlier, it could have been my friends. My father takes that bridge to and from work everday. I go over it about once a week.

However I can't help but think about the homeless guy that camps out on the corner of the exit from the bridge. I see him every other time I drive past there when visiting people. I wonder if he was there that day, and what he saw. I also wonder how he feels about all the authorities, reporters, and pedestrians that are now camping on "his" spot.

----

Also, perhaps I wasn't clear in the past, but my comic reads from left to right.

Opinions welcomed.

Notes on page: Black and White, no color. I was late, too. (I'm trying to keep a Sunday and Thursday schedule.) However, there is shading so not just lineart. I keep morphing styles in drawing, erm... like today's issue has thick black shading. I've been reading too many comic books. D: But I like this kind of style... I don't have to mess around with tones (lol).

What is this, NaNoMango in March? Wait, not a bad thought, really... I'm going through a period of "omfg I need to work on this" so I've drawn up to issue 4.37 now (it'll appear on March 12), which puts the total to eight pages I've done since Sunday night. Half the reason it's going pretty quickly is because the pages are pretty simple (lineart + quick shading, not much extras).

The usual inclusion of a link to the comic: http://clippedwings.comicgenesis.com/

I want to learn how to imbed this LJ into the webcomic site, so I don't need to update two note-sections... and if anyone who's surfing is curious about past update babble they can simply scroll rather than follow a bunch of links. Hmm.

Oh, yeah, I guess I should talk about plot... um... anyone have questions?

Small vaguely informational section :)

Q: When will be the next update?
A: Probably in two weeks when Winter Break officially starts aka Schools Out Forever. At least, until I go back to get some Master's Degree or whatever. Graduating College with a B.A. in Sociology of Law, Crime, and Deviance (aka criminology. Help me find a job).

Q: And does Vaux have a crush on Drake?
A: Probably. Vaux thinks Drake is a good man and he doesn't like seeing good people suffer. So he feels a bit protective.

Forgetful says: "A friend and I were talking about how Jonas always loses. We think Cory should force him to play strip poker."
I say: Whoa! What a hilarious idea! XD I don't think it'll appear in the comic at this moment but I would love to see someone write fanfiction based on this idea (hint).

...

On Conceptual Ideas:
Looking back at my early Clipped Wings concepts is very embarrassing. The comic idea came to me at the end of High School, and I've actually found my original notes that recorded my thought process. "Something that can be a safe haven and a cage...the Gilded Inn? Ick. Think up. Manga/story about a mysterious hotel that is never in the sameplace twice. Big place? With semi-permanent servants. It appears to a traveler in need at any moment, opening its <strike>iron</strike>brass gates to welcome them in."

Notes are also filled with hilarity in the form of Moody Grouchy Cory who smoked and started off looking too much like Schuldich for my tastes. Obviously his personality went through the recycling bin many times! In the end, Cory in essence kind of split into two separate characters when things were finalized - the current incarnation with Lovable Cheerful Cory, and then the character of Vaux Swift who was more like the original Cory prototype. I had added Vaux as an afterthought (notice you don't see him in the first chapter of Clipped Wings, nor does he have a character color). It was a wild card - I didn't have a set plan for Vaux so I decided to just let his character evolve with the plot, but then he elbowed his way into the front and I ended up liking him a lot. *laughs* Funny how things work out.

Except... erm... too much orange. -_-

Well, the colors will look off for a while because I just got a BRAND NEW SHINY COMPUTER!! HP Pavillion. All the colors look brighter, and some of the more subtle colors I had in previous art are so light now I can barely see them, hmm. Time to adjust settings!

Well, maybe one: the hair coloring turned out more strawberry-blond than orange-ish, oops. Again I use edited photo backgrounds, but didn't feel like drawing boring trees, and this is a valid technique! Right?

The "CW" means "Consuming Woe," didn't you know?

Was a little rushed. More Cory next page, don't worry. :x

Update! Go go go.

It's weird how we simply accept the bizzare in dreams. I dreamt the sky was a dome and it was attatched to the tallest tower in this city where I could jump really really high, like the characters in X.

Tarot has many origins, but the deck we recognize now (with the minor/major arcana) was styled after the playing card deck.

On my agenda for the next few days: Put up the webcomic banners in the LINKs section to comics that are cool. Make *myself* a new banner. Also update the fanart section, with a wonderful Jonas fanart from the artist of Clematis!

Clipped Wings, new page it up! Issue 4.14. Hey, did you knokw, in Asia the number 4 is a very unlucky number? It's because the word 4 is pronounced the same way as Death ("shi"). In places like hospitals, there is no number 4 to be found in any of the rooms, kind of like how there is no 13th floor in hotels and things in America.
